Jamise Jackson

Commits Texas A&M Corpus Christi

Jamise Jackson, a senior on the Texas Fusion Gold team has committed to play softball for The Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders! A&M Corpus is a D1 school in the Southland Conference with schools, UTA, Nichols State, SFA, Texas State, Northwestern State, UTSA, Southeastern Louisiana, McNesse State, Lamar, and the University of Central Arkansas.

Jamise (better known as JJ) has had a long and agonizing recruiting process. She had some great offers from the University of Tulsa, Mississippi Valley, Nichols State, University of Buffalo, Louisiana Tech and Florida State among others. In the end JJ had a great feeling about playing for Coach Schumann and the Islanders and going to school on the beach of Corpus Christi!

She has helped our team qualify for ASA Gold Nationals in 2008 and 2009. She has evolved into one of the strongest leaders on our team and she is one of the most feared hitters in North Texas heading into the 2010 season. I will never forget in the fall of 2007, she hit a Homerun at the stadium field at Craig Ranch that landed in the water of the pond beyond the fence! (It didn't bounce in the water, it landed in the water!)
